Boutwell was killed in a crash that happened Saturday morning after 9:00 am. He was driving his car through an intersection where a second vehicle did not stop at a stop sign which caused him to crash into Boutwell.

Police say that Boutwell was hit head-on by the oncoming car.

Both the drivers part of this crash became trapped into their cars. Boutwell was pronounced dead at the accident site as he sustained massive internal injuries.

After Halloween Spc. Joseph D. Binion, 23, was walking home when he was hit and killed by a truck in El Paso, Texas around 2:30 am.

Police reported that David Palacios was driving the blue Chevrolet Silverado truck that hit Binion. After he hit the Chicago soldier, he fled from the scene. Special traffic investigators caught up to Palacios and arrested him. Police stated that Palacios was taken into custody and charged with intoxicated manslaughter and an accident causing personal injury or death.

The death of Binion hit the town harder since he was a soldier. One person said that she thought “it’s terrible that a soldier, who can go across the country or halfway around the world, serves his country and comes home and is killed by some crazy driver not paying attention.”

Local officials warn that during holidays like Halloween both pedestrians and drivers have to be even more careful. During the night of this accident, there were many children also crossing the street. Some had dark clothing on too.

Local police reported that there has been a little increase in car accidents. 52 people have been killed in car accidents where last year at this same time there had been 46.

It was a fatal truck accident that ended in a ball of fire. The tractor-trailer that caught in fire was carrying a load of batteries Sunday evening around 7:00pm.

The truck was being driven by a male. He was heading north on a Virginia state highway when he decided to speed up and pass some cars using the left lane.

Virginia State Police reported that the truck driver was in the left lane as he passed two vehicles.

Once he completed passing the two vehicles, he signaled that he was going to move back into the right lane. But instead, he went off the shoulder of the road and hit the guardrail. This caused his truck to go down an embankment where the truck caught on fire.

The truck’s fire spread to the trailer where the pile of batteries was located. Some of the batteries actually exploded from the exposure to the intense heat.

The truck driver was killed in the accident. He’s been described as a man in his 60’s but his name had not been released pending contact with his family.

The accident caused a back up for miles as the north lane of the highway was closed down. A hazardous material crew had to come out to clean up the accident site and all the remnants of the batteries.

It was around 4:30 pm last Friday night when a bicycle and truck were both heading south on an Indiana state road. The truck ran off the road causing it to hit the read end of the bicycle.

County Deputy Coroner said that the bicycle rider was killed instantly. The name of the rider was not released since officials are still contacting family.

Don W. Beville, 42, was driving the truck. After he had hit the bicyclist he tried to leave the scene, but was stopped by local police. The police discovered that this semi truck had been part of another crash and had left the scene of the crash.

Police reported that someone witnessed the driver of the Nissan truck drinking a beer when he was leaving the first crash. Police were able to connect the two crashes since the victim of the first crash was able to write down the truck’s license plate number and submit it to local police.

After Beville was arrested, his blood alcohol level was measured at 0.30. He did not sustain any injuries from either crash. He has been charged with operating while Intoxicated causing a death, which is a Class B felony charge.

Police were called to the first accident around 9 pm last week. This accident caused traffic to stop on the highway. Just a half hour later, a semi truck approaching the accident didn’t slow down enough which caused him to crash into multiple vehicles.

This collision occurred just two miles south of the first crash. The second crashed involved several vehicles, three of which were semi trucks and four were passenger vehicles. One of the passenger vehicles was pulling a trailer. Ten were taken to local hospitals by ambulance and helicopter with inuries. A few of them are in critical condition.

Witnesses say that it was a chain reaction accident. Considering how many cars were involved, the scene was quite calm after the crash. Rescue workers had to free victims from their trapped cars. One car was trapped underneath one of the semi trucks.

One of the semi trucks was from the Target store. The back door of its trailer was ripped off but the trailer itself was empty.

Since there were so many victims and vehicles involved in the accident, there is an investigation still in progress. Police have not released the names of any of the victims.

One motorcycle rider was killed in an accident that involved two other motorcycles and a semi truck.

The motorcycle rider, Stephen Barber, 62, was pronounced dead at the scene of an accident last Saturday. The accident happened just after noon when Phillip Siragusa, 52, was driving east in his 2008 Chevrolet pickup truck

State police trooper reported that Siragusa slowed his speed down as he was approaching the slowed traffic in front of him. However, Barber coming on the same route did not slow down and instead hit Siragusa’s truck in the back. It is not certain why Barber did not slow down as he approached the truck.

Barber was thrown from his motorcycle and landed in the path of two other motorcycles. Robert Guidry, 61 and Lenard Dequeant, 59, were driving the other motorcycles. They hit Barber and caused him his fatal injuries.

Guidry and Dequeant were taken to the hospital for what police report where very minor injuries.

Police reported that Siragusa was not harmed from the crash. Police do not believe that alcohol or drugs were a factor in this accident. However, tests were still conducted and sent to the local police crime lab. Results of these tests are still pending.

Early Saturday morning in Vermont, a driver hit a utility pole, shutting down power in several houses and then crashed into three different parked vehicles. He eventually got his truck stuck under a Winnebago recreational vehicle.

The police have arrested someone of interest but have not charged him with a citation as yet. He is in custody since he was on probation at the time of the multiple crashes. Until a citation is issued to the suspect, which most likely will be this week, the name of the suspect will not be released.

Police were called to the scene of the accident after a 911 call came in around 2 am. The call described the called stated that there was a silver GMC pickup truck that had hit a utility pole. When the police arrived, witnesses told them that the truck just kept going.

The police finally found the totaled truck that was now stuck under the RV, but the driver had fled. The police were able to draw the path of the truck since it was leaking fluids and the broken axle left some imprints in the pavement. The police concluded that the driver was driving recklessly back and forth.

With all the fluids that had leaked from the truck, the fire department had to be called to the accident site.

Investigators have not commented on the cause of the accident or whether or not alcohol was a factor.

Earlier this month Roger T. Linton, 41, was involved in car accident that killed James J. Carey, 27. Linton was charged with drunken driving and tuned himself in this past Wednesday. When taken into custody, he was charged with criminal operating under the influence and leaving the scene of an accident.
His bail was set to $25,000 for surety or $12,5000 in cash. Officials expect that Linton would post bail on Wednesday.

He may face other charged after the investigation of the accident is complete.

It was around 7:00 pm on Oct. 7th that Carey was pronounced dead at the scene of the car accident.

Linton was driving a Chevrolet one-ton flatbed truck that was carrying stone that day. He was found near his truck which was two miles away from where the accident occurred. He tried to flee the scene but since his truck was damaged from the collision, he was only able to get two miles away before the engine died.
Linton did not get injured in the accident but was taken to a medical center for a blood alcohol test after police and their dogs sensed alcohol/ They also found empty containers of alcohol near the truck. His BAC reading was .12 which is 50% above the state legal limit of .08.

AP - The helicopter was taking a 1-year-old girl Children’s Memorial Hospital in Chicago for treatment when it crashed into a forest. All four people on board were killed in the accident just before midnight Wednesday night.

The child was being transported because of epileptic seizures according to a spokeswoman from the children’s hospital. The spokeswoman could not give any additional detail of the medical issues of the child to protect the child and her family’s privacy. It was reported that she had to be transported because another hospital did not have any rooms available.

Local police spokesman Sgt. Robb Wallers said that it seems that the helicopter clipped a wire from a radio tower. There was a broken wire hanging from the 750-foot radio tower that was close to the crash site. Engineers were examining this wire that was hovering over a busy road.

The helicopter is owned by Air Angels Inc., which is a medical transport service. Air Angels’ CEO Jim Adams explained that the crew on board was the pilot, nurse, and a paramedic from Air Angels. Their names have not been released. He added that the pilot did not report any mechanical or weather issues. When the helicopter crashed in a residential area it then caught on fire.
