Hasbro Nerf Gun Recalled after Injuries

Hasbro Inc., of Pawtucket, R.I has announced a recall of its “Nerf- N-Strike Recon Blasters” toy gun.  Children from the age of 4- to 12 -year-old have been injured by the toy.

When a child tries to pull the trigger of the gun, sometimes their skin gets caught in the plunger.  There has been 46 reports of children being injured using the Nerf gun.  This has caused kids to get hit either in the face, neck, or chest.  Some of the injuries include bruising, abrasions, blood blisters, and welts according to Hasbro’s website.

They toy was available at Wal-Mart, Target, and Toys “R” Us and other discount stores nationwide since November 2007.  The gun is yellow, black and orange.  There word NERF is on one side of the gun and ARMED is on the other side.  The gun has five interchangeable parts.

Customers who have purchased this product should stop using it immediately.  Hasbro has developed a cylindrical cover that will prevent any further injury.  This cover is free and is available by going to Hasbro’s site or calling their toll free number.  There is also a video online that will demonstrate how to place the cover on the Nerf toy gun.
