DUI Accidents

King County Assessor Scott Noble has been involved in the criminal prosecution process since January after being involved in an auto accident that injured two women.  It was alleged that Noble was driving the wrong way on the freeway and that he collided head-on with the vehicle carrying the injured parties.  Originally, Noble pleaded not guilty to two counts of felony vehicular assault.

However, when Noble’s attorneys canceled a routine hearing recently, speculation started that he may ultimately plead guilty to either the charges currently in place or agree to a lesser charge after negotiating with prosecutors.  According to Seattle King 5:

“KING 5 News has learned that King County Assessor Scott Noble is expected to enter a guilty plea next month to charges he caused a DUI crash. Two women were injured in the crash in January. Police say Noble struck them head-on while driving the wrong way on the freeway.

Noble was supposed to be in court today for a routine hearing. But the state attorney general’s office, which is prosecuting the case, tells KING 5 that the hearing was cancelled and a change of plea hearing set for May 14.”

Noble has said that he has no plans to resign his position, but it’s possible that if he is convicted that he will not have a choice in the matter.  Aside from the criminal law aspect of this situation, the women who were injured likely have legal rights and options that should be explored.  If you or someone you love has been injured or worse because of a driver who was charged and/or convicted of DUI, contact the Seattle DUI accident lawyers at Phillips & Webster today to schedule a free initial consultation.
