Atv Accidents

ATV’s are fun to ride for millions of people, but they are also extremely dangerous for many reasons.  The drivers and passengers are completely exposed to injury when a collision occurs, especially since there is no compartment or outer body attached to the vehicle to protect them from being thrown.  Additionally, ATV’s tend to roll over at sometimes dangerous rates, and when these vehicles land on top of someone, serious injuries or worse always seem to follow.

It appears that more young people - a large percentage of ATV riders overall - were hurt in an ATV accident in Arizona, according to an article filed by The Arizona Republic:

“One girl died and two boys were injured in and ATV accident near New River Wednesday afternoon.

The 16-year-old girl was being flown to the hospital, but died en route due to major head trauma sustained in the accident, which happened at about 4:10 p.m., according to Maricopa County Sheriff’s officials.

The two boys, who are 17-years-old, were reportedly following each other on the ATVs at high speeds when the one boy stopped, causing the other boy to crash into the back of the ATV, according to Daisy Mountain Fire Department spokesman Phil Dyer. The teen boy and girl riding on the second ATV were thrown off the vehicle.”

This looks to be yet another example of both negligent driving combined with a dangerous type of vehicle.  ATV accidents happen all too often all over the United States every year despite publicity campaigns within every medium urging safety and higher standards.  If you or someone you love has been injured in an ATV accident, contact the attorneys at the Phillips National Injury Group today to schedule a free initial consultation.
