Early Saturday morning in Vermont, a driver hit a utility pole, shutting down power in several houses and then crashed into three different parked vehicles. He eventually got his truck stuck under a Winnebago recreational vehicle.
The police have arrested someone of interest but have not charged him with a citation as yet. He is in custody since he was on probation at the time of the multiple crashes. Until a citation is issued to the suspect, which most likely will be this week, the name of the suspect will not be released.
Police were called to the scene of the accident after a 911 call came in around 2 am. The call described the called stated that there was a silver GMC pickup truck that had hit a utility pole. When the police arrived, witnesses told them that the truck just kept going.
The police finally found the totaled truck that was now stuck under the RV, but the driver had fled. The police were able to draw the path of the truck since it was leaking fluids and the broken axle left some imprints in the pavement. The police concluded that the driver was driving recklessly back and forth.
With all the fluids that had leaked from the truck, the fire department had to be called to the accident site.
Investigators have not commented on the cause of the accident or whether or not alcohol was a factor.
