Injury News

Cyclists in the Twin Cities plan to head out on their bicycles this Saturday to remember four bikers that were killed in four different terrible bicycle accidents. The route will start where Virginia Heuer-Bower, 51 was killed. The route will then go through the area that Jim Nisser, 65, was killed while he was biking to work. Then the cyclist will continue on to that area downtown where Nicholas Morton, 18, was hit by a truck and killed while he was riding his bike.

Dale Aanenson was the fourth person to be hit while on his bike. He was near his home when he was killed. The route goes through this area and is a total of 13.6 miles.

All four spots where the bikers were killed will be a “ghost bike” that has a bike that is painted white. On the bike are photos and flowers to honor each of the bikers.

All four of these bikers were killed in the same month. Local bikers could not sit still and allow the tragedy of so many bikers killed in one month just go by.

The ride is open to everyone. The organizers are asking that those riding to wear a black shirt and they will be given an orange ribbon to be tied on their handle bars.
