July 26th earlier this year, Shia LaBeouf was driving in West Hollywood with his co-star Isabel Lucas, from Transformers 2 in the passenger seat.
According to reports, Shia proceeded to make a left turn at the intersection of La Brea and Foundation avenues when he crashed into another vehicle with his pickup truck. The impact of the crashed caused LaBeouf’s pickup truck to roll over.
LaBeouf suffered multiple injuries. He had some minor injuries to his head and knee. But his left hand was seriously injured requiring extensive surgery. He had a cast for a while and had to stop filming for about one month. He was seen around town with his cast.
Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department some days later determined that LaBeouf was not at fault in the accident. The driver that he collided with had run through a red light.
Both the driver of the other car and Lucas were not severely injured in the accident.
A further investigation was conducted into the accident. The conclusion of this investigation was that LaBeouf will not be charged with a DUI. His driver’s license will be suspended for anywhere between six to nine months. The hearing for LaBeouf will be held this Friday, September 26th.
LaBeouf refused to take a blood-alcohol test. Authorities stated that there was not enough evidence to charge him with a DUI.
